The first episode started on 16 October 1972 and between 1972 and 1989, it used to be called Emmerdale Farm. It was created by Kevin Laffan. It is not a box set season because it is on 6 times a week since 2004 and last for an hour long. For the first 25 years, there were only 2 episodes per week.
